Zardari Talks Security and Cooperation with Iran’s Raisi

Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari and Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi held a phone call discussing ways to effectively enhance information sharing to tackle security challenges.

According to a press release from the President’s House, the conversation also included Eidul Fitr greetings and discussions on recent regional developments.

President Zardari offered his condolences for the lives lost in the Israeli strike on Iran’s embassy in Damascus and expressed concern about the humanitarian situation in Gaza, urging for an immediate ceasefire.

He reiterated Islamabad’s commitment to strengthening bilateral ties and invited President Raisi to visit Pakistan. Zardari stressed the importance of sharing intelligence to overcome security issues.

Earlier, Zardari had emphasized the need to boost barter trade and economic links with Iran during a discussion with Iran’s Ambassador to Pakistan, focusing on the potential to expand economic cooperation.

The two nations have a history of collaboration across economic, cultural, and political areas, working together on security, trade, and regional stability issues.
