UAE Extends Passport Validity to 10 Years for Select Citizens: Details Within

The United Arab Emirates Cabinet has approved an amendment to the executive regulations governing citizenship and passports, significantly changing the validity period of Emirati passports.

Under the updated rules, individuals aged 21 and above will benefit from an extended passport validity of 10 years, doubling from the previous 5-year duration.

The announcement was made by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, who shared the news on social media following the Cabinet meeting on Monday.

In addition to the passport validity extension, the amendments introduce expanded facilities and a comprehensive range of digital services to enhance citizens’ convenience and efficiency, ensuring smooth interactions with relevant authorities.

Notably, the United Arab Emirates has been continually updating its immigration regulations to meet evolving needs and enhance effectiveness for both citizens and foreign workers.
