Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi is set to officially visit Pakistan later this April amidst recent hostilities in the neighbouring region, including Iran’s attack on Israel.
President Raisi’s trip marks the first state visit to Pakistan by a foreign leader since the establishment of Pakistan’s new government following the General Elections on February 8.

It has been confirmed that President Raisi will arrive in Pakistan with a delegation on April 22, as preparations between the two countries have been finalized.
The agenda for the visit includes discussions on the escalating situation in the Middle East, the Iran-Pakistan Gas Pipeline Project, and other bilateral issues.

On the previous Saturday, Iran executed a military strike against Israel, deploying numerous drones and missiles, as stated by Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). This operation, named “True Promise,” was described by the IRGC as retaliation for “Israeli crimes.”
The conflict between Iran and Israel has intensified since the Gaza war began in October and escalated further following an Israeli attack on its consulate in Damascus on April 1.

Earlier in January, tensions between Iran and Pakistan flared when Iran fired missiles into Pakistani territory, which led to retaliatory measures by Pakistan. Nonetheless, the situation was swiftly resolved through diplomatic means, thereby restoring peaceful relations between the two neighbors.
