Sahir Ali Bagga Opens Up About His Conflict with Rahat Fateh Ali Khan
Tensions arose between Pakistani music stalwarts Sahir Ali Bagga and Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, with Sahir expressing his grievances against Rahat, stirring controversy during the holy month of Ramadan.
In a social media post, Sahir publicly criticized Rahat, labelling him as a ‘hypocrite and a brutal individual’, sparking widespread speculation and debate within the industry and on social media.
While Rahat remained silent and did not respond to Sahir’s comments, Sahir himself later provided clarification and context to his controversial remarks.

In an emotional post, Sahir expressed pride in his role as a composer and reiterated his dedication to promoting Pakistani talent globally. Despite acknowledging Rahat’s exceptional skills and talent, Sahir highlighted that Rahat had not given him due credit for the song ‘Zaroori Tha’.
Sahir clarified that his intention was not to defame anyone but to ensure he received the recognition he deserved. He emphasized the importance of safeguarding the rights of other artists who look up to him as a role model.
Initially removing his posts about Rahat, Sahir reposted them without an apology, influenced by Ali Zafar’s advice to maintain the spirit of Ramadan.
