Cristiano Ronaldo has come under heavy criticism recently for his inappropriate gestures, sparking controversy in the Saudi media. This issue gained prominence following Al Nassr’s 3-2 victory over Al Shabab in the Saudi Pro League.
Ronaldo has faced previous backlash for his obscene behavior, notably in April last year when he made gestures towards his pelvis after a league match against Al Hilal. Unfortunately, he repeated the same gesture against Al Shabab.
Currently, Al Nassr trails Al Hilal by four points in the league standings, with the league leaders having a game in hand and the potential to extend their lead to 7 points.
Despite opening the scoring against Al Shabab in the 21st minute, Ronaldo’s team needed a late hero, which came in the form of Anderson Talisca.
Waleed Al Farraj, a prominent Saudi television host, expressed concern over Ronaldo’s behavior, stating, “The disciplinary committee faces a significant challenge. We will wait and see; there are limits to everything, regardless of one’s fame. This is how major leagues operate.”
Earlier this month, Ronaldo further fueled tensions by provocatively handling a scarf thrown at him during a match against Al Hilal, causing agitation among their fans after Al Nassr’s loss in the Riyadh Season Cup Final.
Despite the controversies, Ronaldo continues to excel on the field, leading the goal-scoring charts in the Saudi League with 22 goals in 20 appearances.
