The PTI has declared that the demonstrations will persist until Khan is released from incarceration and the constitution is fully reinstated. Previously, the party’s protests have met with significant opposition, including police crackdowns that resulted in the baton-charging and arrest of several leaders. Imran Khan has been detained since August of the previous year.
