PIA Rejects Claims of Ground Staff Involvement in Hina Sani’s Canadian Drug Incident

Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has dismissed allegations of its ground staff’s involvement in the arrest of flight attendant Hina Sani at Toronto Airport.

The national airline’s spokesperson refuted claims that linked the incident to two ground staff members, describing such speculation as unfounded and based on media conjecture.

PIA clarified that Faiza Javed, named in connection with the case, is not employed by the airline in Canada, underscoring that the airline’s suggestions of complicity in Hina Sani’s arrest are without merit.

The carrier also indicated it might pursue legal avenues to safeguard its reputation from what it perceives as unfounded accusations.

The statement was issued following the arrest of Hina Sani by authorities who discovered methamphetamine concealed in her footwear. The PIA flight attendant faces legal proceedings after being apprehended for the second time over possession of the controlled substance.

Sani is due in court shortly. During her interrogation, she implicated two PIA officials based in Toronto, Faiza Javed and Jameel, who are currently under thorough investigation.

Previously detained for possessing multiple passports, Hina was released but has since been suspended from her duties with the airline.
