PCB Releases Schedule for South Africa Tour

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced its tour to South Africa, scheduled for the second half of 2024, comprising three T20Is, three ODIs, and two Tests.

T20Is will take place in Durban, Centurion, and Johannesburg from December 10-14. ODIs are set for December 17-22 in Paarl, Cape Town, and Johannesburg, while the two ICC World Test Championship 2023-25 matches are scheduled at Centurion (December 26-30) and Cape Town (January 3-7).

Departing for Durban on December 2 after returning from Australia on November 19, Pakistan will play three ODIs and three T20Is from November 4-18. Following their African tour until January 8, the team will engage in a three-nation ODI tournament at home against New Zealand and South Africa, leading up to the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 in Pakistan.

Before the Australia and South Africa tours, Pakistan will host Bangladesh and England for two and three Tests, respectively. This results in a packed schedule of seven Tests, at least 10 ODIs, and six T20Is from August 2024 to January 2025.

Pakistan’s upcoming tour to South Africa marks their seventh Test series in the country since 1994-95, with notable victories in the 1997-98 and 2006-2007 series. Memorable performances include the Durban Test in 1997-98 and the Port Elizabeth Test in 2006-2007.

In ODIs, Pakistan has clinched two out of the last three series, while South Africa secured victories in previous encounters. In T20Is, Pakistan holds a slight edge with six wins out of 12 encounters, including one no-result match.
