Pakistanis Detained in Saudi Arabia on Drug Trafficking Charges

Two Pakistani nationals were recently arrested in Saudi Arabia as part of a significant drug trafficking operation.

According to a report from a Saudi state-run news agency, the Riyadh Region Police’s Investigation and Search Department took the individuals into custody. They were allegedly using a residential unit as a distribution hub for narcotics.

Following legal proceedings, the suspects have been transferred to the Public Prosecution for further legal action. Saudi security forces have encouraged the public to remain alert and report any suspicious drug smuggling or trafficking activities.

These arrests are not isolated incidents involving Pakistanis and drug offenses in Saudi Arabia.

In August of the previous year, Saudi authorities arrested a Pakistani in Tabuk for distributing methamphetamine, alongside three Saudis involved in trafficking another illegal substance.

Additionally, the kingdom executed two Pakistanis for heroin smuggling, which was the first application of the death penalty for drug-related offenses in almost three years.
