Pakistani Cricketer Aliya Riaz Weds Commentator Ali Younis in Star-Studded Event

Pakistani women’s cricketer Aliya Riaz and commentator Ali Younis were married on Friday in a glamorous event in Lahore.

Aliya Riaz, a right-handed batter and off-spin bowler, exchanged vows with Ali Younis, who is the brother of cricket legend Waqar Younis.

The lavish ceremony was held at a private farmhouse in Lahore and featured a special Qawwali performance.

The wedding was attended by notable Pakistani cricketers such as Babar Azam, Azhar Ali, Mohammad Yousuf, Mushtaq Ahmed, Ramiz Raja, Inzamam-ul-Haq, Kamran Akmal, Misbah-ul-Haq, and Umar Akmal, alongside female cricketers Nida Dar, Anam Amin, Iram Javed, Bisma Mahroof, Sidra Amin, and Natalia Parvez.

Aliya and Ali’s engagement earlier this month captured public attention when photos of the event circulated online.

Aliya Riaz’s Background: Aliya is celebrated for her all-around cricketing skills, having played for teams like Rawalpindi, Federal Capital, Higher Education Commission, Lahore, State Bank of Pakistan, and Zarai Taraqiati Bank Limited.

Her notable international performances include participation in the 2018 ICC Women’s World Twenty20 and the 2020 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup. Aliya made a significant impact with six dismissals in the 2018 tournament and was a nominee for the Women’s Cricketer of the Year at the 2020 PCB Awards.
