Pakistan to Host T20 Blind World Cup in November 2024

Pakistan is set to host the T20 Blind World Cup in November 2024, with the Final coinciding with the International Day of Persons with Disabilities. The decision to grant Pakistan the hosting rights was made during the 25th Annual General Meeting of the World Blind Cricket Limited (WBCL) held in Dubai.

The World Cup commences on November 20, with the Final scheduled for December 3. Participating teams include India, New Zealand, South Africa, West Indies, Sri Lanka, Nepal, and Bangladesh, with Australia’s confirmation still pending.

The meeting, presided over by Syed Sultan Shah, President of WBCL, saw representatives from eight Full Member countries, including Australia, England, West Indies, South Africa, Pakistan, India, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh in attendance. Matthew Kennedy, Manager of ICC’s Global Development, was also present to discuss ICC’s plans to include blind cricket in their strategic agenda, aiming to engage 30 million new supporters by 2030.
