Kicking off their European tour, the Pakistan cricket team gears up for the first of three T20Is against Ireland today (Friday). The match is set to commence at 7 pm.
The subsequent two matches are scheduled to unfold at Castle Avenue on Sunday and Tuesday, following which the team will proceed to Headingly, Leeds, for a series of four T20Is against England, starting Wednesday.

Subsequent to the England series, with matches lined up at Headingly (May 22), Birmingham (May 25), Cardiff (May 28), and The Oval, London (May 30), both England and Pakistan will transition to the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024. England will initiate their campaign against Scotland in Barbados on June 4, while Pakistan is slated to take on the USA in Dallas on June 6.
This marks Ireland’s debut hosting of Pakistan for a T20I series, having only crossed paths once before in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2009, where Pakistan clinched victory by 39 runs. Kamran Akmal was hailed as the player of the match for his remarkable 51-ball 57.
Notably, both teams are grouped together for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 and are set to face each other in Florida on June 16. Alongside the two teams, India, USA, and Canada are also in the same group, with the top two teams advancing to the subsequent stage.
Meanwhile, fast bowler Mohammad Amir will sit out the first T20I due to visa issuance delays. It is anticipated that he will join the squad on Friday.
