Novacare Hospitals (Private) Limited announced today the commencement of construction for a cutting-edge hospital in Islamabad, along with the signing of an international affiliation agreement with Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust, a renowned UK teaching hospital group.
The signing ceremony occurred in London on March 6, 2024, attended by representatives from Imperial College Healthcare, Novacare, and the UK government, held at the UK DBT’s offices at Admiralty House.
The total investment in the project amounts to USD 110 million, with the hospital situated on a 50-kanal (225,000 square foot) plot in DHA Phase-V, along the main DHA Expressway.
The affiliation was facilitated by the U.K.’s Foreign, Commonwealth, and Development Office (FCDO) in Pakistan, along with the UK Department for Business and Trade (DBT) in London.

Through this affiliation, Novacare will benefit from Imperial College Healthcare’s expertise, gaining advisory input on care models, services, and staffing, aiming to implement their clinical standards and protocols to achieve comparable healthcare standards.
The 250-bed hospital will cover an area of 550,000 square feet, providing comprehensive tertiary healthcare across 28 clinical services. Designed by HKS, a leading global design firm, it aims to become Pakistan’s first LEED, WELL, and EDGE-certified hospital, prioritizing sustainability and users’ wellbeing. It also aims for Joint Commission International (JCI) accreditation for high standards of clinical quality and patient safety.
Novacare’s leadership team comprises seasoned healthcare professionals with both local and international experience, led by Mr. Johannes (Hans) Kedzierski, previously CEO of prominent hospitals in various countries.
Sponsored by Maple Leaf Cement Factory Limited and managed by Andalus Holdings, Novacare aims to establish a world-class healthcare network across Pakistan, with plans to replicate similar hospitals in other major cities, alongside satellite clinics, day surgery centers, diagnostics collection centers, medical education facilities, and a digital care navigation platform.
