In a significant overhaul, the National Curriculum Council of Pakistan (NCCP) introduces 62 new subjects for grades nine through twelve, marking the first major update in nearly three decades.
As per reports from a private news channel, the NCCP Director confirmed the revision of 38 subjects across the curriculum for classes 9th to 12th. It was stated that Trade Fair Technical Education and Technical Subjects would now be offered as optional subjects within the National Council’s curriculum.
The Director disclosed that the technical education subjects would include 10 new technical subjects and 14 upgraded ones, making 38 optional subjects available for students in these grade levels.

The introduction of new educational content for the optional subjects from ninth to eleventh classes is slated for the coming year. Additionally, it was announced that subjects such as Medical Technology, Fashion Design, and Dress Making have been incorporated into the technical education curriculum.
Moreover, subjects like Graphic Designing and Media Production, Hospitality Management, Tourism Management, and Data Coding are set to be included. The upgraded technical subjects will encompass advertising, telecommunication technology, solar construction, computer applications, computer hardware, marketing, entrepreneurship, and event management.
The curriculum will also feature subjects like Food Processing, Conservation, Motor Winding, Automation and Robotics Technology, Welding, and Woodwork, as per the NCCP Director’s announcement.
Furthermore, it was revealed that global languages such as Chinese, French, Persian, and Arabic will be part of the curriculum update.
