Multan Sultans Crush Quetta Gladiators in PSL Match 30

Multan Sultans clinched a commanding victory over Quetta Gladiators by 79 runs in the final match of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 9 group stage held at the National Stadium in Karachi.

Batting first, the Sultans posted a formidable total of 185-4 in their allotted 20 overs, with captain Mohammad Rizwan leading the charge with a brilliant 69-run innings. Johnson Charles, the West Indian batsman, contributed with a crucial half-century while supporting Rizwan.

Quetta Gladiators struggled to contain the Sultans’ batting onslaught. Akeal Hosein was the only bowler to maintain an impressive economy rate, conceding 26 runs from his four overs without taking a wicket.

Despite Mohammad Amir claiming two wickets, Quetta Gladiators could not stem the flow of runs, as spinners Abrar Ahmed, Usman Tariq, and Saud Shakeel proved expensive, conceding over 9 runs per over.

In their chase, Quetta Gladiators faltered and were bowled out for just 106 runs, with Omair Yousaf top-scoring with 37 runs. The lack of substantial partnerships proved their downfall, as only one batsman managed to surpass the 20-run mark.

Multan Sultans’ bowlers David Willey, Abbas Afridi, and Usama Mir wreaked havoc on Quetta Gladiators’ batting lineup, picking up multiple wickets each.

Although Chris Jordan maintained an economical spell, he remained wicketless, while Mohammad Ali managed to claim a wicket but conceded runs at an economy rate of close to 12.

Mohammad Rizwan was rightfully awarded the Player of the Match for his stellar 69-run innings, leading Multan Sultans to a convincing victory.
