In a crucial encounter, Islamabad’s captain, Shadab Khan, won the toss and chose to field, setting the tone for the match. Peshawar Zalmi, batting first, saw a strong start from Saim Ayub and Babar Azam, with Saim particularly aggressive, hitting three consecutive boundaries in an over bowled by Obed McCoy.
