In the final match of the regular season, Islamabad United emerged victorious after defeating Multan Sultans by three wickets in a nail-biting run chase at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.
Winning the toss, the two-time PSL champions opted to bowl first but struggled with their bowling performance as Usman Khan dominated the bowlers, scoring his third PSL century and matching Kamran Akmal’s record for the hundreds in the competition.
Multan Sultans’ opening batsman showcased an exceptional performance, scoring 100 runs off just 50 deliveries, while Johnson Charles provided crucial support in the middle order with a quickfire 42 off 18 balls. Yasir Khan’s explosive innings in the powerplay added momentum to Multan’s batting, with Chris Jordan also contributing with a strike rate of over 200.
