Intel Unveils the Core i9-14900KS Featuring Enhanced Max Turbo Frequency

Intel has introduced its latest desktop processor, the Core i9-14900KS, boasting even higher turbo frequencies than its predecessors. An impressive peak of 6.2 GHz marks a significant milestone for stock desktop CPUs.

The Core i9-14900KS surpasses its predecessors, the Core i9-14900K and Core i9-13900KS, with an additional 200 MHz boost while maintaining other key specifications, including 24 CPU cores and 32 threads.

Setting itself apart from the K version, this new variant features an elevated base power limit of 150W, aligning with the 13th-gen KS and ensuring a smooth generational transition.

However, the most noteworthy enhancement lies in its turbo frequency capabilities, with a uniform increase of 200 MHz across the board. While turbo frequency receives a substantial upgrade, other specifications remain consistent, from the 36 MB cache to the support for 192 GB of RAM, maintaining the legacy of its predecessors.

Furthermore, the integration of Intel Graphics 770, with a base frequency of 300 MHz and a maximum dynamic frequency of 1.65 GHz, remains unchanged.

According to Intel’s benchmarks, the new i9-14900KS outperforms AMD’s competing offerings in various video games such as Warhammer III, Starfield, and Metro Exodus. However, it falls behind in titles like Red Dead Redemption 2 and Counter-Strike 2.

The Core i9-14900KS is now available on the market, offered as both a standalone boxed processor and integrated within systems by OEM partners. This high-performance processor, priced at $699, targets enthusiasts and professionals seeking top-tier performance.
