Impressions of the Lava Blaze Curve: Unboxed and Analyzed

Lava recently unveiled the Lava Blaze Curve, the newest addition to its Blaze series. We had the opportunity to delve into the Iron Glass variant, and here’s our initial take on this device.

The Lava Blaze Curve is in a sleek black retail box after unboxing. However, the image on the box might not match your chosen colour variant. Inside, you’ll find essential accessories including a protective cover, charging cable, 33W adapter, USB-C to 3.5mm headphone jack adapter, and a SIM ejector tool.

The highlight of the Lava Blaze Curve is its 6.67″ 3D curved AMOLED display boasting FullHD+ resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, and 800 nits peak brightness. While the screen’s quality is commendable, we observed a slight delay in the ambient light sensor’s responsiveness. Nevertheless, it offers a vibrant visual experience with HDR10+ and Widevine L1 certifications, showcasing 16.7 million colours.

The display houses a 32MP selfie camera within a centred punch hole, albeit slightly off-center. Although the camera’s placement might seem subpar upon close inspection, it remains functional. Additionally, the screen integrates a fingerprint reader for seamless biometric authentication, though its positioning could have been more ergonomic.

Turning to the rear, the Lava Blaze Curve features a triple camera setup comprising 64MP primary, 8MP ultrawide (120° FOV), and 2MP macro lenses. The primary camera, equipped with a Sony sensor and EIS support, boasts an f/1.9 aperture for enhanced photography experiences.

Externally, the device sports a simplistic yet elegant design with the back panel’s matte-finished 3D glass design, protected by Gorilla Glass 3. Despite lacking flashy aesthetics, its curved edges ensure a comfortable grip, enhancing the premium feel.

Under the hood, the Lava Blaze Curve runs on the Dimensity 7050 SoC paired with 8GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 128GB/256GB of UFS 3.1 storage, delivering smooth performance. It operates on clean Android 13, promising a bloatware-free user experience and assured updates up to Android 15.

The device is fueled by a robust 5,000 mAh battery supporting 33W fast charging, ensuring swift recharges. Notable features include Dolby Atmos support and 5G connectivity on both SIM slots.

Scheduled for release in India on March 11, the Lava Blaze Curve comes in two variants: 8GB/128GB priced at INR17,999 ($215/€200) and 8GB/256GB priced at INR18,999 ($230/€210).
