The incident occurred at a private coal mine in the mining area of Khost, located 80 kilometers east of the provincial capital, Quetta, on Tuesday evening. Although there are concerns about the fate of the remaining trapped workers, rescue teams are working tirelessly to retrieve them. Teams from the government’s mining department, the disaster management agency, and other officials are currently on-site.

Such incidents are unfortunately common in Pakistani mines due to the presence of deadly gases, often resulting in mine collapses. These tragedies highlight the hazardous working conditions and inadequate safety standards prevalent in the country’s mining industry.
