Everything You Should Know About Vivo X Fold 3

Vivo is preparing to unveil not just one, but two foldable phones simultaneously later this month. This launch will introduce the Vivo X Fold 3 and X Fold 3 Pro and a new report will provide a detailed overview of the expected specifications.

Following the trend set by Honor’s Magic V2 foldable, the Vivo X Fold 3 series is anticipated to boast an exceptionally slim and lightweight design. Vivo claims that both models will be even thinner than the Vivo X5 Max from 2015, renowned for its status as one of the world’s thinnest smartphones.

Echoing Honor’s assertions, Vivo also states that the X Fold 3 will weigh less than traditional bar phones, although specific weight figures have not been disclosed. Despite their slim profile, both foldables will maintain IPX8 water resistance.

The Vivo X Fold 3 Pro will be the first foldable device to feature a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC, given that this chipset was released only a few months ago and has thus far been exclusive to conventional flagship phones. The non-Pro variant will be equipped with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 instead.

Both X Fold 3 series models will sport 8.03-inch Samsung E7 AMOLED primary displays with 2K resolution, capable of reaching peak brightness levels of up to 3,000 nits. They will incorporate dual ultrasonic fingerprint scanners—one embedded within the internal display and another on the 6.53-inch exterior screen.

The camera capabilities of the X Fold 3 and 3 Pro are expected to impress, boasting a 50MP primary camera, a 50MP ultrawide lens, and a 64MP periscope module, each featuring Optical Image Stabilization (OIS). These foldable devices will also integrate Vivo’s proprietary V3 imaging chip.

On the software front, both phones will run Origin OS 4 based on Android 14, which has been optimized for folding screens. With a 5,500 mAh battery, paired with 120W super-fast charging and 50W wireless charging, users can expect ample battery life.

Rumored pricing is surprisingly low, with the regular X Fold 3 speculated to start at $1113, potentially making it one of the most affordable book-style folding phones. The Pro model is expected to be priced at $1391, at least in China.
