The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee in Pakistan has declared the sighting of the Shawwal moon, indicating that Eidul Fitr 2024 will be celebrated on Wednesday.
The committee, led by Maulana Muhammad Abdul Khabir Azad, held its meeting in Islamabad to observe the Shawwal moon. Simultaneously, zonal committees conducted their meetings across provincial capitals, with the Pakistan Meteorological Department’s experts also participating.

Under the chairmanship of Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad at Islamabad’s Kohsar Complex, the committee successfully sighted the moon, marking the conclusion of the Holy Month of Ramadan and the commencement of Eidul Fitr celebrations.
The Meteorological Department had already predicted a high likelihood of the Shawwal moon being visible on April 9, paving the way for Eid celebrations on April 10.

Furthermore, the government of Pakistan has announced extended Eidul Fitr holidays from April 10 to 12, 2024.
In contrast, Saudi Arabia and the UAE will observe Eidul Fitr on April 10, following the absence of a moon sighting in these countries on Monday. The Saudi court has encouraged individuals to report any sighting of the Shawwal crescent directly to the nearest court or through designated centers.
