The trial court is poised to deliver its verdict on the controversial “un-Islamic nikah” between Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi at Adiala jail. Senior Civil Judge Qudratullah will announce the verdict after a 14-hour hearing conducted within the jail premises.
Initiated by Bushra Bibi’s ex-husband Khawar Maneka, the case revolves around his plea challenging the legality of the nikah, alleging it to be un-Islamic and illegal. Cross-examination of statements from four witnesses has been completed, and statements from both Khan and Bushra under section 342 have been recorded.

Bushra Bibi, currently under sub-jail status at Banigala, will be transported to Adiala for the final hearing. The verdict will be announced in the presence of Imran Khan, Bushra Bibi, and their respective legal representatives.
During the preceding day, the complainant’s counsel, Raja Rizwan Abbasi, along with Imran Khan’s lawyer Salman Akram Raja and Bushra Bibi’s lawyer Usman Gul, presented their final arguments.
Khawar Maneka, in his petition, contends that the nikah was “fraudulent” as it took place during Bushra’s iddat, following her divorce from him. He asserts that the marriage lacked legality and Islamic validity due to the absence of the required iddah period. Maneka accuses Imran Khan of negatively impacting his life and family, purportedly seeking “unethical and immoral objectives” through interference in his marital life. The petition calls for legal action against Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi in the pursuit of justice.
