Once again, the interim federal government has raised the price of petrol, marking the third hike in less than a month.
According to a notification issued by the Finance Division, petrol prices have surged by Rs. 4.13 per litre to reach Rs. 279.75. However, the price of high-speed diesel remains unchanged at Rs. 287.33 per litre. This adjustment will take effect from March 1.

During the previous bi-weekly review of petroleum prices on February 15, the government increased petrol prices by Rs. 2.71 per litre, while high-speed diesel saw a spike of Rs. 8.37 per litre.
This rise on February 15 followed a significant increase in petrol prices on January 31, when the government raised them by Rs. 13.55 per litre, along with a Rs. 2.75 per litre increase in high-speed diesel prices.
