As anticipated by leaks, Apple has introduced new hardware through a press release rather than a media event. Although no new iPads have been released, Apple has unveiled its latest MacBook Air laptops featuring the M3 chip.
This launch holds significance for Apple, with the 13″ MacBook Air being the world’s top-selling laptop and the 15″ model claiming the title of the best-selling 15″ laptop globally.
Following its tradition, Apple refrains from comparing its latest hardware to the previous generation, opting instead to compare it to models from further back. According to Apple, the M3 MacBook Air boasts up to a 60% increase in speed compared to the M1 and is up to 13 times faster than the fastest Intel-powered MacBook from nearly five years ago.

The Retina Display offers “up to 2x the resolution of comparable PC laptops,” reaching brightness levels of up to 500 nits and displaying 1 billion colors. It supports connection with up to two external screens even when the lid is closed and boasts up to 18 hours of battery life.
Additional features include Wi-Fi 6E support, two Thunderbolt ports for faster transfer speeds, a 3.5mm headphone jack, a 1080p webcam, three microphones, and a speaker setup featuring Spatial Audio and Dolby Atmos. Touch ID is also included for swift unlocking.
The M3 MacBook Air comes in four colors: midnight, starlight, space gray, and silver. Apple notes that the midnight color features an anodization seal to minimize fingerprints.
The 13″ model starts at $1099, while the 15″ variant will be priced at $1299. These laptops will be available for purchase in 28 countries starting March 8.
