Announcement of Pakistan Women’s Cricket Team for Upcoming England Tour

Karachi, May 1, 2024: Pakistan’s women’s national cricket team has been selected for their upcoming tour to England this month, as announced by the newly-established seven-member national selection committee. The squad, led by captain Nida Dar, consists of 17 players and will participate in a series of matches including three T20 Internationals from May 11 to May 19 and three One Day Internationals from May 23 to May 29.

The ODIs are a crucial part of the ICC Women’s Championship 2022-25, with this tour marking Pakistan’s eighth and final series in the current cycle. Pakistan currently holds the fifth position in the 10-team championship with 16 points. The top five teams from the championship, along with the host nation India, will secure direct qualification for the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025.

The team’s schedule in England will also include two additional warm-up matches (one T20 and one ODI) against the ECB Development XI on May 9 and May 21, respectively. This tour will be Pakistan’s first visit to England since 2016. The squad is set to depart on Sunday, May 5.

Pakistan Women’s Squad: Nida Dar (captain), Aliya Riaz, Ayesha Zafar, Diana Baig, Fatima Sana, Gull Feroza, Muneeba Ali (wk), Najiha Alvi (wk), Nashra Sundhu, Natalia Parvaiz, Rameen Shamim, Sadaf Shamas, Sadia Iqbal, Sidra Amin, Tuba Hassan, Umm-e-Hani, and Waheeda Akhtar.

  • May 9: T20 Warm-up vs ECB Development XI at Uptonsteel County Ground (11:00 AM local time)
  • May 11: 1st T20I in Birmingham (2:30 PM local time)
  • May 17: 2nd T20I in Northampton (6:30 PM local time)
  • May 19: 3rd T20I in Leeds (1:00 PM local time)
  • May 21: ODI Warm-up vs ECB Development XI in Northampton (11:00 AM local time)
  • May 23: 1st ODI in Derby (1:00 PM local time) – ICC Women’s Championship
  • May 26: 2nd ODI in Taunton (11:00 AM local time) – ICC Women’s Championship
  • May 29: 3rd ODI in Chelmsford (1:00 PM local time) – ICC Women’s Championship
