British boxer Amir Khan, who retired previously, still hopes to step into the ring against Manny Pacquiao, the legendary Filipino boxer.
Khan shared his optimism about the possibility of a fight in 2024, as the welterweight division has somewhat dimmed since the departures of Floyd Mayweather, Pacquiao, Danny Garcia, Khan himself, and others, who were known for their closely contested battles.
Throughout his career, Khan participated in numerous pay-per-view matches, but bouts against Mayweather and Pacquiao never materialized. His most recent fight occurred in February 2022 against Kell Brook, resulting in a knockout defeat for the British-Pakistani fighter.
Recent reports suggest that Pacquiao has resumed training and is exploring potential matchups. The Filipino fighter’s last bout was against Yordenis Ugas in 2021, while concurrently running for the presidency of the Philippines during the elections.
Although Khan appears eager for the fight to materialize, the decision ultimately lies with Pacquiao, who holds the authority to choose his opponent.
