Tennis ace Aisam Ul Haq has secured the position of President in the Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF) following a competitive election against Major General (r) Asghar Nawaz, who also vied for the presidency.

At 43 years old, Haq replaces former PTF Chief Salim Saifullah. The elections took place across the 15 affiliated units of the Pakistan Tennis Federation. Before the elections, Shakil Durrani, former Chief Secretary and Chairman Railways, was nominated by the PTF as the Chief Election Commissioner.

Ahead of the elections, Asghar Nawaz received six nominations while Aisam Ul Haq Qureshi received a total of five nominations.

Initially, the polls faced delays due to legal disputes, and as per the PTF Constitution, no President can serve a third term in office.
