Iran has initiated a retaliatory strike on Israel, deploying multiple drones and missiles as declared by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). The operation, named “True Promise,” aims to penalize Israel for its alleged offenses.
“The aerial assault against Israel has commenced,” stated Adrienne Watson, a spokesperson for the US National Security Council, emphasizing that the United States will support Israel’s right to defend itself against these Iranian threats.

In the wake of these developments, military forces in Syria are on elevated alert, and the airspace over Iraq, Jordan, and Israel has been shut down.
Tensions have escalated between Iran and Israel since the Gaza conflict began in October, with recent weeks seeing increased hostilities following an April 1st incident where Israel is accused of attacking Iran’s consulate in Damascus.

In response to the Damascus attack, Iranian leaders, including Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, vowed retribution against Israel, which has subsequently prepared for potential counterstrikes and has maintained ambiguity about its role in the Damascus incident.
