At least 17 people died and more than 25 were injured when a truck transporting pilgrims toppled into a ditch in the Hub district of Balochistan.
The accident occurred on Wednesday night as the pilgrims traveled to the Shah Noorani shrine in Khuzdar. The vehicle, carrying over 70 pilgrims from Thatta in Sindh, veered off the road after the driver lost control at a turn on the Shah Noorani road.
The driver has since been arrested, according to Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Sakro Wajid Ali.

Health officials have identified 15 of the 17 victims who died. Rescue operations were notified at 11 pm and concluded within two hours.
Authorities reported that 35 of the injured were taken to Civil Hospital in Karachi for treatment.
