Pakistan Reveals Team Lineup for Upcoming T20 Series Against New Zealand

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is set to announce an 18-player roster today, Sunday, for the forthcoming T20 International series against New Zealand.

The series against the Kiwis is scheduled to commence on April 18, with the New Zealand team arriving in South Asia on April 14.

Babar Azam is slated to lead the team as captain once again, following his recent reinstatement as the captain for Pakistan’s white-ball team.

There has been much speculation leading up to the team’s announcement for the New Zealand series, particularly concerning fast bowler Haris Rauf, who is currently recuperating from a shoulder injury.

The players under consideration for inclusion in the series are Babar Azam, Saim Ayub, and Muhammad Rizwan, among others. Additionally, there are indications that Shaheen Shah Afridi might sit out part of the series to manage his playing load, aligning with the PCB’s strategy to lighten the load on key pace bowlers.

The situation regarding Fakhar Zaman’s hand injury is under review, with a final decision pending based on medical advice.
