Kuwait Resumes Issuing Work Visas for Muslim Nation

In Kuwait, the Interior Ministry, in collaboration with the Public Authority for Manpower (PAM), has reached an agreement to resume issuing work permits for Egyptians, focusing particularly on government sector positions under the Article 17 visa.

According to Gulf News, this decision will allow various key government entities, including the ministries of Education, Health, Endowments and Islamic Affairs, as well as Kuwait Municipality, to hire Egyptian professionals for roles such as doctors, teachers, nurses, and Imams.

However, it has been clarified that the recent relaxation of visit visa restrictions will not apply to Iranian nationals due to security concerns, nor to Afghan nationals, as there is no Afghan diplomatic mission in Kuwait.

Furthermore, PAM has drafted legislation to address expatriates involved in absconding cases. This proposed law awaits approval from Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defense, and Acting Minister of Interior Sheikh Fahad Yusuf Al Sabah before being presented to the National Assembly for consideration.

The proposed law includes strict penalties, including hefty fines and administrative sanctions, for individuals found harboring expatriates involved in absconding incidents.
