Warframe is Coming to iPhones Tomorrow Following Death Stranding’s Release

Warframe, a free-to-play third-person RPG shooter, is set to launch on iOS devices shortly after the release of Hideo Kojima’s Death Stranding: Director’s Cut. The release date is scheduled for tomorrow, February 20, 2024.

The announcement comes from Digital Extremes, the Canadian game studio behind Warframe, revealing that the interplanetary shooter will be available on Apple’s App Store tomorrow. Additionally, cross-platform play and cross-save functionality will allow iOS players to seamlessly join the same universe as PC and console users. Players logging in during the launch week, starting February 20th, can claim complimentary Day 1 Login Rewards, including a 3-Day Affinity Booster and a Bombyx Syandana.

Warframe is also in development for Android devices, with plans for release at a later date. Interested users can pre-register for the Android version.

In addition to the mobile release, Digital Extremes plans to launch a new expansion for Warframe called Warframe 1999 later this year, acting as a prequel to the main game. The expansion’s storyline follows Arthur, who utilizes a prototype armor similar to Excalibur, on a quest to find Dr. Albrecth Entrati, a significant figure in Warframe lore.

Warframe 1999 will feature nods to the year 1999, incorporating the licensed song ‘The Void’ by Nine Inch Nails and references to the Millennium Bug. More details about Warframe 1999 are expected to be revealed at TennoCon 2024, scheduled for July 19-20.
