FBR Seizes Illegal Cigarettes Valued at Rs. 140 Million

The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has conducted a two-day campaign to confiscate non-duty paid/counterfeit cigarettes valued at Rs. 140 million.

According to an FBR statement, the Inland Revenue Enforcement Network (IREN) teams from Peshawar, Multan, and Sialkot seized over 679,000 packets (equivalent to 15,580,000 sticks) of non-duty paid/counterfeit cigarettes from various local and foreign brands, including Business Royal, H&P, Platinum, Milano, and Olympic during the operation conducted on February 14th and 15th.

The statement added that the approximate value of the seized goods exceeds Rs. 140 million.

Furthermore, criminal proceedings have been initiated against the manufacturers and transporters under the directives of Member (IR-Operations) Mir Badshah Khan Wazir.
