Mari Petroleum Company Limited (MPCL) has announced a gas discovery at the Maiwand X-1 ST-1 exploration well located in Block 28, situated in the Kohlu District of Balochistan.

Drilling commenced on June 12, 2023, and concluded successfully after reaching 2,516 meters on November 12, 2023. Testing conducted on selected zones yielded the following sustainable gas flow rates:
