Xiaomi 14 Ultra Set to Launch at MWC 2024 with Camera Details

Xiaomi 14 Ultra is anticipated to make its debut soon, possibly alongside the Xiaomi 14 and Xiaomi 14 Pro, which were unveiled in October 2023. These smartphones are expected to be globally introduced at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2024, scheduled from February 26 to February 29 in Barcelona. The high-end Xiaomi 14 Ultra may be unveiled alongside the other Xiaomi 14 models during this event. Leaks and reports have been surfacing for months, shedding light on key features of this flagship phone, including camera specifications.

A Weibo tipster named Fixed Focus Digital indicated that the Xiaomi 14 Ultra is likely to launch in February, aligning with the timing of MWC 2024. This event has historically witnessed major smartphone releases, making it a plausible platform for the Xiaomi 14 Ultra’s introduction. The Xiaomi 14 and Xiaomi 14 Pro, initially launched in China, are also expected to be showcased globally at this event.

Regarding the camera capabilities, the tipster mentioned that the primary rear camera of the Xiaomi 14 Ultra might feature a variable aperture ranging from f/1.63 to f/4.0. Previous leaks suggested a 50-megapixel Sony LYT-900 sensor with an f/1.6 lens for the primary camera. Additionally, rumors have hinted at a quad rear camera system, including a 120mm periscope telephoto shooter and a Vario-Summilux 1:1.63-2.5/12-120 aspherical (ASPH) lens.

Other expected specifications for the Xiaomi 14 Ultra include Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC, a 6.7-inch 2K AMOLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate, a 5,180mAh battery supporting 90W wired and 50W wireless charging, and an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor for security. Like its counterparts in the Xiaomi 14 series, the Ultra model is likely to feature the company’s new HyperOS skin on top of Android 14.
It’s worth noting that the Xiaomi 13 Ultra boasts a Leica-tuned quad rear camera system, consisting of a 50-megapixel 1-inch IMX989 primary sensor and three 50-megapixel IMX858 sensors, along with a 32-megapixel front camera.
