O Level and A Level students across Pakistan are preparing for their annual exams, which are administered by Cambridge Assessment International Education. The 2024 sessions are scheduled to run from April 25 to June 13, with approximately 100,000 students expected to participate nationwide.
To accommodate the examinees, roughly 100 testing centres have been established across the country, including 20 in Karachi, Pakistan’s largest city. This year, popular subjects among O Level candidates include Pakistan Studies, Islamiat, Mathematics, English, and Urdu. A Level students have predominantly chosen Physics, Mathematics, Business Studies, Chemistry, and Computer Science.

Currently, over 800 schools in Pakistan offer the Cambridge curriculum, ensuring that students have access to an internationally recognized standard of education. In Karachi alone, around 200 schools provide comprehensive Cambridge education programs. O Levels, which are equivalent to GCSEs in the UK, offer a broad spectrum of subjects and are generally taken by students around the age of 16. A Levels provide more specialized education and are typically pursued by students around the age of 18.
