Explosion in Khuzdar Market of Balochistan Claims Two Lives, Injures Five Eid Shoppers


A bomb blast at a crowded market in Khuzdar, Balochistan, resulted in the deaths of two individuals and left five others injured.

The incident unfolded in the town of Khuzdar late Sunday evening, targeting Umar Farooq Chowk, a bustling market area teeming with shoppers preparing for Eidul Fitr.

At the time of the explosion, the market was filled with a significant number of shoppers, including women and children, heightening the impact of the blast.

A high-ranking Balochistan police official confirmed the casualties, reporting two fatalities and five injuries from the explosion.

Emergency response teams, including security forces and rescue workers, promptly arrived at the scene to transfer the victims and injured to Khuzdar Teaching Hospital for medical attention.

Investigations revealed that the explosion was caused by an improvised explosive device (IED) attached to a motorcycle and detonated remotely at Umar Farooq Chowk.

As of this report, no organization has come forward to claim responsibility for the attack, with authorities continuing their investigation into the incident.
